About the Treatment

What is Veterinary Physiotherapy?

Hands on treatment that helps animals recover from surgery, manage long-term conditions like arthritis, and move the way they should. Same principle as physio for people — assess how the body is moving, find what isn't working, and help it.

Every assessment starts by watching your animal move: posture, gait, muscle tone, and where they're holding tension. The plan is built from there.

About Kirsten

Reliable Veterinary Physiotherapy

I've always been drawn to animals and fascinated by the way movement affects wellbeing. After years of training and hands-on experience I set up my clinic in Rosudgeon a calm, caring space where dogs can be helped.

My approach is hands on, compassionate and completely tailored. No dog is the same, so every plan is built around their personality, condition and lifestyle.

A full musculoskeletal assessment. Movement, posture and condition are thoroughly evaluated to build a tailored plan.

Treatment & Recovery

Hands on physiotherapy with laser, electrotherapy and targeted exercise — plus a home programme so progress keeps going between sessions.

Common questions about veterinary physiotherapy in Cornwall.

How do I know if my dog needs physiotherapy?

If your dog has had surgery, shows signs of pain or stiffness, or struggles with movement, physio supports recovery, comfort and mobility. Even for healthy dogs it keeps the body strong and picks up weaknesses before they become something more serious.

Do you offer home visits or online options?

All in-person sessions are at my Rosudgeon clinic, but I offer home visits for those who can't travel. I also hold clinics at Bodmin Vets4Pets, and online consultations are available for owners who want guidance remotely.

What conditions do you treat?

IVDD, arthritis, TPLO recovery, elbow dysplasia, hip dysplasia, spinal injuries and more. I also support equine patients across Cornwall.

Can physiotherapy help older dogs?

Absolutely. Gentle mobility work makes a big difference to comfort, confidence and quality of life for senior dogs.

Do I need a referral from my vet?

Under UK law your vet needs to give consent before physiotherapy. It's a simple form — I can send it over and handle it with your practice for you.
