Canine Laser Therapy

Advanced Laser Therapy for Dogs, Supporting Recovery & Comfort

Laser therapy is a non-invasive, pain-free treatment Laser Therapy, also known as Photobiomodulation (PBM) or red light therapy, is a non-invasive treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light (980/810nm) to stimulate the body's cells. When this light energy is absorbed, it enhances cellular activity and supports the body's natural healing processes. By increasing the energy to cells, laser therapy can help accelerate the repair of soft tissues such as muscles, tendons, ligaments and skin, while also promoting bone healing.

It may reduce the development of excessive scar tissue, decrease inflammation, and provide effective pain relief, making it a valuable treatment for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions

Benefits

of laser therapy

What is Laser Therapy?

A non-invasive treatment that uses light energy to stimulate healing, reduce inflammation, and relieve pain at a cellular level.

What Can It Treat?

Ideal for arthritis, soft tissue injuries, post-surgical recovery, wounds, and chronic pain conditions in dogs.

Treatment Plan

Best results are achieved as a course. Some cases may need 2–3 sessions in the first week, followed by weekly treatments as healing progresses.

Combined With Physiotherapy

Laser therapy is often used alongside hands-on physiotherapy to maximise results, improve mobility, and support long-term recovery.

Initial assessment + treatment course

Following your dog's assessment, the areas requiring treatment will be identified and a personalised treatment plan will be created. Your dog will then be made comfortable on one of our padded treatment beds while the laser therapy is carried out. We aim to make each session as relaxed and stress-free as possible, and if your dog would like to stand up or have a short break during treatment, they are welcome to do so. Most dogs quickly realise that the treatment is comfortable and pain-free, with many becoming so relaxed that they happily lie down and even drift off to sleep.

Laser therapy has a cumulative effect, meaning the benefits build over a series of treatments. For the best results, we typically recommend a course of six sessions over three weeks. Once this course is complete, your dog will be reassessed to evaluate their progress, and we will discuss whether any additional treatments or a maintenance plan would be beneficial.

Initial Session Included

Full assessment, gait and movement analysis, and your first treatment session. We begin laser or ultrasound therapy immediately where indicated and create a tailored rehabilitation plan.

Follow-Up Sessions (£40)

Each follow-up session is approximately 20–25 minutes. Treatment progresses based on response, with continued use of laser or ultrasound therapy where beneficial.

Recommended Course of 6

A course of 6 sessions is generally recommended for optimal clinical results, especially for soft tissue injury, arthritis, post-surgical recovery, and chronic pain conditions.

Advanced Treatment Approach

Combines laser therapy, ultrasound therapy, manual physiotherapy, and exercise prescription. This multimodal approach improves circulation, reduces inflammation, and accelerates healing.
