A whole-body method to restore comfort, movement and confidence

The Functional Canine Reset Approach is my structured, whole-body physiotherapy method designed to improve your dog’s comfort, mobility, posture and long-term movement quality.

It combines targeted soft-tissue release, body realignment techniques, neuromuscular re-education and functional exercise.

Through years of experience, I have found that massage alone is not enough for most dogs.

Many achieve far better, longer-lasting improvements when hands-on treatment is combined with specific exercises, guided movement patterns and supportive changes designed to do at home.

The Functional Canine Reset Approach brings these elements together to create lasting functional change.

Understanding Your Dog’s Movement “Map”

Every dog has areas where movement flows freely and areas that are tight, blocked or compensating.

Part of the Functional Canine Reset Approach is exploring your dog’s body like a map, identifying:

  • which areas move easily

  • where mobility is restricted

  • which patterns are compensations

  • how the body behaves during turns, bends and transitions

  • what your dog finds difficult or avoids

This helps create a truly individualised treatment plan that supports your dog from every angle, using simple exercises and lifestyle changes to create a happier better moving body

I used the Functional Canine Reset Approach with Dexter, who after IVDD surgery had bad posture and a hump. By treating the tissues around and resetting his posture we were able to create a more functional body.

Why the Whole Body Matters

Core & Spine

A dog’s core stabilises the spine during bends and turns.
If the core isn’t working well, the spine becomes stiff, blocked or overworked. When the right muscles re-engage, the spine relaxes and movement becomes smoother.

Pelvis & Hindlimbs

Good pelvic mobility improves hindlimb power, stride length and balance.
Dogs move more evenly and confidently when the pelvis is working well.

The Functional Canine Reset Approach is ideal for:

  • older dogs

  • dogs with stiffness or mobility changes

  • post-surgery rehabilitation

  • sports and working dogs

  • young dogs needing early body awareness

  • dogs showing subtle or unexplained movement changes

  • dogs recovering from injury or long-term compensations
